Success - You can certainly find love on the web!!

My wife had passed away a year ago last January. Prior to this (again thanks to the web) I had found my real father in Canada in 1998 after not knowing him at all from birth - and I was 51 at the time - but that is another story! Subsequently I obtained Canadian citizenship and it had been our intention to retire to Canada in 2002/3 when we would both have been 55.

Unfortunately this was not to be, due to my wife's illness. However I continued with the plan and started the process of having a new home built in Ontario with a view to retiring there in April this year.

Later last year I became a member of DatingDirect.com and made a few friends but nothing at all serious. I spent last Christmas on Ascension Island with my two daughters, son-in-law and 3 grandchildren. On my return on January the 7th I found that there was a message waiting for me on DatingDirect.com from a lady who lived within 8 miles of my home. We exchanged a few messages via your personal mail service and arranged to meet for lunch on Friday the 19th of January.

To cut a not very long story even shorter - I proposed to Maggie on Friday February the 2nd (yes a whole 2 weeks later) and she accepted. Not only that but she also accepted the fact that we would be heading for a new life in Canada at some point in the near future. The wedding date is set for October and it is going to be a grand family affair.

The house in Canada is under construction and will be completed by the end of September. For our honeymoon we are spending a week in Los Angeles then on to New Zealand for 4 weeks to visit Maggie's sister, then a week seeing friends in Australia before arriving at our new home in Ontario at the end of November! We are staying there over Christmas so that I can share my father's birthday with him for the first time ever on January 2nd and also my birthday with him on the 9th. We are returning to England in January in time for my daughter's wedding early in February!

So - yes - you can certainly find love on the web and both Maggie and I will be ever grateful to DatingDirect.com for bringing so much happiness into our lives at a time when we both thought it impossible to achieve this again.
